Villa Nilsson is a wooden house on the west coast of Skåne which has been blended into the magnificent Öresund landscape. The architecture is based on strict volumes, with wood playing the lead part, though at the same time encounters are permitted with other materials, and this is the basis of the building’s material composition.

In the exterior, a small horizontal wooden louvre, painted black, contrasts with
large expanses of glazing. The precision of the detailing is evident, for example, from the carefully designed connections and corners of the louvre.

There is another wooden louvre indoors, but this time in the form of a whiteglazed ceiling and wide floorboards of white-soaped Douglas spruce. Villa Nilsson is an exemplary demonstration of wood used as a precision material where a light and slender effect is aimed for.
