With a body comprising two barrel-vaulted volumes on a platform raised above the Bohuslän rocks, this house is a prime example of modern archipelago architecture. Built on site, the frame is made from solid structural timber and glulam posts and beams, with a fibre cement board exterior that is practically maintenance-free. Contrasting with the exterior material, the building’s internal rooms are made entirely from wood. When the sun sits low in the west, the grey building in the granite grey landscape becomes a glowing beacon from the sea.
