Said Guihia - moroccan designer

Swedish Wood engaged nine Moroccan designers in creating furniture on the theme of ‘Swedish wood meets Moroccan creativity and woodworking tradition’. The study trip is the next step in inspiring North African designers to use Swedish wood in more ways.

I have designed decorative pieces with geometric features that draw on Moroccan culture. The idea is to add aesthetic value to the natural and organic wood, which is combined with stainless steel and a few layers of white paint.

Biog: Said Guihia was born in 1958 and works as an artist, designer and interior architect. He graduated from L’Académie des Beaux-Arts et des Arts Décoratifs in Tournai, Belgium, and he now teaches interior design and product design in Casablanca. He also lectures on Moroccan and European design.
