Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

We look back on an eventful year of 2022.

For the first time since 2019, we have been able to meet all the people in our networks, reasonably unimpeded. There have been many opportunities to meet - Nordbygg, Trä och Teknik, Karlstad Market Conference, committee meetings, seminars, training-courses and much more. It has really felt like a breath of fresh air – although maybe a little too much at times!

We have also faced some challenges. The terrible war in Ukraine has had a great impact on the whole world and so also on us. This has, among other things, led to continued great media interest in how the wood product market has been affected. The debate about how we use the Swedish forest and how the raw material should be used continues. As wood construction gains market share, we at Swedish Wood receive more and more questions that specifically deal with sustainable forestry. We have an ongoing work to see how we can contribute to increase the understanding and knowledge in this area as well.

On December 1, Anna Ryberg Ågren succeeded the position as Director of Swedish Wood from Mathias Fridholm. However, Mathias will continue to remain at Swedish Wood but in a different role. An operational plan and budget for 2023 is in place, but as usual it will need to be fine-tuned during the year. We feel ready to face the issues and challenges that end up on our table in 2023 as well. But before we do that, we'll end the year and take some well-deserved time off.

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Anna, Mathias and all employees at Swedish Wood.
