SPACE is the theme for issue 3/2025. In this issue, you can read about how wood is used in space research, the possibilities of growing trees on the Moon, and buildings with a sense of space. One example of such a building is Notre Dame – follow how the reconstruction of the cathedral was made possible by the combination of modern technology and medieval craftsmanship.

We also visit the Tellusborgshallen in Stockholm and the world’s largest wooden structure, Grand Ring at the World Expo in Osaka. But above all, we delve into glulam construction and the technology that makes it possible to build large and climate-smart with wood.

Ola Kjellander and Monika Jachimowska from the architecture firm Kjellander Sjöberg reflect on why building with wood can sometimes feel so complicated, and artist Klara Knutsson presents the elevator she has lined with images of her Stockholm – in thin veneer layers.
